Signum
signum · noun, neuter · a sign, a signal; a military standard
Your advertising is your standard — the thing the public sees you by. Nothing goes up until it's been checked.
In the castrum
A legion was known by its standard.
Every unit of a legion marched behind its signum — a pole hung with discs and emblems, carried into battle by the signifer. It was the unit's identity in the field. Soldiers formed up on it, and orders were given by raising, lowering and moving it.
In camp, the standards were kept in a shrine at the heart of the headquarters, the principia, and guarded. Losing one to the enemy was a disgrace a legion never forgot.
In your company
Consumers, competitors and regulators judge your company by what you advertise. Castrum Signum checks every piece against your rule library before it goes up, records who approved it and why, and keeps the approved version on file.
How it works
Four steps. Every time.
- Propositio
Submit
The loan officer or marketer submits the ad — an image, a PDF or the text — and the states it will run in. No account needed.
- Inspectio
Pre-review
Castrum checks the submitter against your licensing roster for every advertised state. When AI review is on, the AI reads the ad, including images and PDFs, against the rules your company has turned on.
- Iudicium
Decide
By default, a compliance reviewer approves or denies with feedback. If you turn on automatic decisions, the AI can decide ads it fully read; the submitter can escalate an AI denial to a person.
- Custodia
Keep
Every submission, approved or denied, stays in the archive with who decided, why, and when.

What's inside
Castrum Signum, piece by piece.
A rule library built for mortgage advertising
Rules cover Reg Z trigger terms and APR disclosure, misleading claims, the MAP rule, UDAAP, NMLS ID display, Equal Housing Opportunity, ECOA and RESPA Section 8.
Your risk profile, your severities
Turn each rule on or off and set it to info, warn or critical, so reviews match your company's appetite.
AI review
When AI review is on, each ad is read against your active rules — text, images and PDFs — and every problem comes back with the rule, where it is in the ad, and how to fix it. The AI can't open links, so a link-only ad goes to a reviewer.
Licensing check
Upload your licensing roster and Castrum checks every advertised state against the submitter's licenses. An ad in a state where they aren't licensed, or from an inactive license, is blocked — the AI can't override it.
Critical-rule guard
If an ad fails a rule you mark critical, Castrum blocks an AI approval. Automatic decisions are optional, set per company, and can be switched off entirely. Anything the AI couldn't fully read goes to a person.
Reviewer sign-off and escalation
By default, every decision is made by a named reviewer, and a denial always carries feedback. A submitter can escalate an automatic denial to compliance; both decisions stay on the record.
Archive and history
Every submission and every status change is kept: search and filter by state, ad type, channel, decision or reviewer, and export to CSV.
